Go to the 6th floor. When you get off the elevator, you will see a reception desk through a set of glass doors. Head toward that desk and turn left. Walk until you can make the first right that you can. Go in the first or second door on the right.

Agenda for Wed, April 9th: My talk will be entitled, "Night of the Living Fed". Please Note that the demise and/or take over of a broker-dealer was predicted in my August 2007 talk, "Crash or Bear Market". The notes for the talk, posted online in August, can be seen in the File section.

We will be charging $5 for this meeting, unless you bring a friend to the meeting. The friend must join the group. Both you and your friend(s) get free admission.

6:30 - 6:45 Agenda for the day + Announcements

6:45 - 7:00 The State of the Gold, Silver, and Oil Markets. The predicted sell offs have taken place, what now?

7:00 - 7:15 Critical Thinking for Financial News - The beginning a new series where we will examine news or magazine articles and how to deconstruct them to see if there is any useful information in them.

7:15- 8:00 - "Conservative Option Strategies in a Bear Market" - Robert Rubin

8:00 - 8:30 - "Night of the Living Fed" - Bear Stearns has collapsed and the Fed has arranged a take over by JP Morgan. While a number of financial commentators claim Bear Stearns failure indicates the end of the Credit Crisis, the more likely analogy is to the failure of the Bank of the United States in 1930, which lead to a chain reaction of financial institution failures. We will go over the shorter and longer term scenarios that are likely to unfold . - Daryl Montgomery

It's really important for everybody to take their financial future in their own hands and not rely on salesmen and institutional pitchmen bucking for commissions who do not have your own best interests at heart. You must look after yourself and learn from other investors. Daryl has provided a forum that showcases a variety of experts. Unlike reading or seeing them on TV or on the web, we meet them in person and can ask tough questions! It's best to come prepared and read up on the topics.
