This meet up is an introduction to the basics of technical analysis of the financial markets. Technical analysis is the examination of past price movements to forecast future price movements. Technical analysts are sometimes referred to as chartists because they rely almost exclusively on charts for their analysis. This is an easy-to-understand introduction to the various tools used in technical analysis, including moving averages, relative strength, overbought oversold indicators, Bollinger bands, stock chart patterns, and much more

I meet many people who are looking for exposure to technical analysis. There are no other resources beyond hundreds of books written on the topic and the financial press.

I was a portfolio manager and technical research analyst for a fee based investment management firm in San Francisco. The firm's clients were banks and thrift institutions, large pension plans, trust, estates, charitable organizations and individuals.

I was a stockbroker with Paine Webber.

Also employed with Dean Witter on the options floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange.

I am exam qualified with a series 7 and series 3.

I have been in industry for 26 years.
