Investors are constantly looking for ways to enhance their portfolios. From selecting good stocks to finding solid funds, smart investors need good tools to evaluate their selections.

Join us at the Jerusalem Investment Group's May meeting to learn and discuss how to evaluate companies, funds, and ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds). We've had five previous meetings with a lot of enthusiasm and participation. Meeting participants are encouraged to learn from each other and share what they know.

When comparing different stocks, we'll discuss how to size up the options, compare their valuations, and learn how to size up a potential investment.

Concepts to be discussed will include:

  • stock screening
  • comparing potential investments
  • simple and more advanced valuation tools
  • lazy vs. active portfolios

So, attendees should be able to leave the meeting with an understanding of how to screen and compare stocks, funds, and ETFs.

Bring your questions, comments, friends, and spouses to begin taking the next step towards creating a sound investment portfolio. If there are specific questions you'd like addressed during the meetup, please email them to [masked] beforehand. I will try to address your questions.

We'll be meeting in my office's conference room at 2 HaMaalot and refreshments and nosh will be provided. RSVP is mandatory. Please call (02) 624-2788 or email me at [masked] to let me know to expect you.

It clarified a lot of the things I needed to know but had no time to research yet; I also met many people of the kind I like to meet for mutual mind fertilization.

this seemed to be the consensus topic for the next meeting. I encourage everyone to share any tools/techniques they've acquired through their own investing experience.

    •  I attempted to cover a lot of material. We focused on using the Internet to size up investments. I think we need to have a session that precedes this one and focus on sizing up good companies, funds, etc.
    •  I thought the meeting was very useful; only drawback is that people entering at this juncture are a bit behind the rest in understanding basic concepts. So while I learned a lot, there are still some basic points that I need to learn to be able to make better use of what I learned tonight, which was a lot. ADC
